THE FRENCH SCHOOL SYSTEM

Hello!
Before presenting our own school, we wanted to explain how works the French school system! :-)


In France, we start school at 3 years old. We have four "main schools":
- kindergarten, from 3 to 5
- primary school, from 6 to 10
- middle school, from 11 to 14
- high school, from 15 to 18
We are right now in middle school.

In most of schools in France, we have class from 8:00am to 5:00pm. In our school, we have school from 8:15am to 4:45pm.

After high school, we can go to college, which is a little different than your college. We have to stay 3 years, and not four. It's called "une licence".

We start English in primary school now. We have to keep learning English until the last year of high school! We have no choice! Three hours a week!

But we are very lucky in France because we have a lot of holidays! We have five breaks during the year:
- 10 says in november
- 2 weeks for Christmas
- 2 weeks in february (when most of French people go skiing!)
- 2 weeks for Easter
- and 2 months in summer! It's of longest break!
